"Solidly built, with a core of crushed plum and boysenberry fruit melding with roasted alder and dried anise notes. The finish has a tarry hint but this stays fleshy in feel overall, letting the dark fruit drip through. Best from 2017 through 2024. 150 cases made."

"A step up over the classic release, the 2013 St Joseph Le Berceau is a deeper, richer wine that offers layers of black cherry and black raspberry fruit, licorice, smoked meats and hints of olive. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and with building tannin, it has enough texture and depth to drink nicely now, but will be better with short term cellaring and have 15 years of overall longevity."
