James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion
Deep, intense purple-crimson; one whiff of this wine tells you its origin: McLaren Vale, with that coat of fine, dark Belgian/Swiss chocolate, its bitterness (in the best sense) carving back the impact the alcohol otherwise might have made, and lengthening the seductive palate.

"Dark and dense in color, opening a bit in texture, with grippy tannins wound around a solid core of blackberry and red plum flavors, lingering on the expressive finish. Drink now through 2020. 14,000 cases made. -HS" (03/14)
91 Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media
"Deep ruby. Smoky, spice-accented dark berry and cola aromas are complemented by an intense floral quality. Round and fleshy on the palate, offering sweet blueberry and cassis flavors and a bracing jolt of acidity to add lift. Closes with very good energy and focus, leaving spicecake and violet pastille notes behind." (07/13)

Very deep purple-black color, the 2012 Angels’ Share Shiraz shows of a classic McLaren Vale nose of crushed blackberries, blueberry preserves and dark chocolate over touches of pepper, espresso and cinnamon stick. Very full-bodied and generously fruited in the mouth, the abundant flesh is well framed by medium to firm, velvety tannins and just enough acid, before finishing with great persistence and balance. Drink it now to 2020+.
