James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion
Deeply coloured, it is a potent and imposing entry point wine, way below its single vineyard siblings, yet crammed to the gills with black fruits, anise, licorice, pepper and spice; the flavours continue to ricochet well into the aftertaste. Drink by 2031.
91 Gary Walsh - The Wine Front
"Boot polish, blackberry, liquorice, spice, pepper and dark chocolate. Medium bodied, glossy dark chocolate flavour, fleshy fine mouth-coating tannin, truffle and spice, well pitched acidity and a pretty long, pretty funky savoury finish – almost bacon-like. Bit of chutzpah and swagger here. Good wine. "
91 Wine Spectator
"Distinctly peppery, brimming with fresh-ground overtones to the plum and blackberry flavors, hinting at sage and sassafras notes on the finish. Lively acidity. Drink now through 2020. 2,200 cases made." HS
