"There's a very pretty cabernet sauvignon character to this red with flower and chili undertones. Full body, firm tannins and a bright and pretty finish. Tangy and vibrant. Tight now but shows wonderful potential. A blend of 90% sangiovese and 10% teroldego. Better in 2017."

"An unusual blend of Sangiovese and Teroldego, the 2012 Gigiò is also one of the most intriguing wines I tasted in Tuscany this year. Dark stone fruits, graphite and smoke are all given an extra kick of energy and delineation as this explosive red shows off its distinctive personality. The 2012 spent 18 months in French oak barrels."
"The estate was founded by husband and wife team, Enzo Schiano and Claire Beliard, in 2000. Nestled in the hills of Fiesole, Tuscany, facing south/southwest, the property sits in some of the most beautiful countryside just outside Florence, amidst hills sprinkled with medieval bell towers and castle ruins.
The property consists of a 5 acre vineyard, cultivated primarily with Sangiovese grapes, in a mix of older vines (18 years+) and younger vines (10 years+). The vineyard, thanks to its small size and human dimension, is cared for maniacally, making it a real jewel.
From the beginning, we set out to farm organically and have been certified organic since 2006." -Winery
