"Compelling and elegant, the 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva Berardo is a tremendous effort that boasts a plump and ripe quality of fruit backed by silky tannins, good structure and fresh acidity. This Chianti Classico Riserva shows the natural heft and power to pair with succulent cuts of beef or braised pork. The 2010 vintage is especially nuanced and finessed. Castello di Bossi made a terrific showing in 2009 with wines that are bursting with lively fruit, momentum and balanced structure. In contrast, this set of 2010 super Tuscans shows less consistent results. Cooler vintage characteristics played out very differently among the three grapes (Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) used in these two wines."
