John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"The 2014 Gravains is really fine this year, as this side of the valley was unaffected for the most part by the hail and the wine offers up a very refined bouquet of cherries, pomegranate, a deep base of soil, woodsmoke, Savigny spices and hints of the gamebird to come. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with fine-grained tannins, excellent focus and grip and a very long, transparent and potentially sappy finish. This is going to be a superb bottle with eight to ten years’ worth of bottle age. 2022-2060+."
