"Light but plump red strawberry fruit mixes with sandalwood, dried sage and thyme on this nose of this estate wine from winemaker Greg Brewer. Lots of spicy herbals show on the palate, from peppercorn and cardamom to thyme and oregano, giving deeper character to the light red-fruit core."

"One of the best values in Pinot Noir out there is Melville's 2013 Pinot Noir Estate and it overdelivers in just about every vintage. Firing on all cylinders on this occasion, with complex red fruits, rose petal and sous bois aromas and flavors all soaring from the glass, it's medium-bodied, ripe and expansive, with lots of Sta. Rita character, integrated acidity and a clean, nicely focused finish. Mostly destemmed (60%) and aged 11 months in neutral oak, it's a beauty to buy by the case and enjoy over the coming 4-5 years." "The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate Sta. Rita Hills is gorgeous. Bright red berries, red currants, rose petals and mint all lift from the glass in a beautifully delineated Pinot endowed with striking beauty. This is a great introduction to the Melville wines and house style. The 2013 is a blend of 16 clones across the property, done with 35% whole clusters."

"Vivid ruby-red. Assertive aromas of raspberry, cherry and fresh rose, with Asian spice and woodsmoke accents building in the glass. Juicy and precise on the palate, offering gently sweet red berry flavors and a hint of candied rose. Shows impressive energy and clarity on the long, focused finish, which features a zesty mineral nuance. Really lively for the vintage and balanced to age."
"Pale ruby in color, spicy aromatics of ginger, black tea and
cinnamon stick emerge initially. On the palate, fresh and lifted nuances of
candied orange peel, pomegranate and gardenia mingle with hints of toasted
marshmallow and dried cherries. The mouthfeel is focused and vibrant,
finishing with excellent clarity and precision." Winery
