"Rusty red cherry aromas meet with eucalyptus, sweet bay leaf and lightly toasted pine wood on the nose of this bottling from a coveted vineyard on the western edge of the appellation. It's light and energetic on the palate, with high-toned red-fruit flavors, rustic smoke and a prominent chaparral spice. -MK"
Love Pinot from Burgundy or Oregon? You are going to find a ton to love here. Made in a medium to full bodied style, this Pinot Noir has ripe fruit, is perfectly balanced, and has a 60+ second finish.
Flying Goat sources all of the grapes from an extremely small block of vines in the Solomon Hills Vineyard located in the Santa Maria Valley. There are a total of 157 cases of this wine made in total. Like Burgundy, the entire goal of this wine is to express the exceptional terroir. This vineyard is located just Southwest of Bien Nacido, one of the greatest vineyards in California.
The wine itself starts off with aromas of dusty cherries, fresh raspberries, and a slight herbaceous note. As the wine opens up you will find secondary notes of earth, smoke, and bacon. The wine is going on 7 years of age, so there is no surprise that it is drinking extremely well right now. You can open this up and drink right away, as all the waiting has been done for you already!
