Allen Meadows - Burghound
"There is a trace of herbal tea that adds breadth to the otherwise exceptionally fresh and equally pure red currant and wild cherry aromas. There is really beautiful intensity to the precise flavors that are on the lighter side yet deliver that wonderful quality of power without weight. This is first rate as it's balanced, harmonious and offers excellent depth and length."

"Roncières is one of the smaller premier crus in Nuits, but it is beautifully-situated between les Pruliers and les Porrets on the band of premier crus to the south of the center of the village. The Chevillon vines in Roncières range from forty-five to nearly seventy years of age, and the last few vintages of this bottling have been as promising as any I have ever tasted from the domaine. The 2011 Roncières is superb and nicely reserved, offering up a pure and sappy bouquet of black cherries, red plums, raw cocoa, a touch of nutskin, a beautiful base of soil, violets and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and sappy at the core, with great focus, ripe tannins and a very long, beautifully balanced and very soil-driven finish. This is an outstanding wine in the making and not far off the brilliant 2010, which is the greatest young Roncières I have ever had the pleasure to taste from Domaine Chevillon. 2022-2060."
