About

Rating:

91

"Light, bright red. Inviting aromas of raspberry, candied cherry and Asian spices are lifted by a powerful floral element. Sweet, lush and intense, with a zesty minerality sharpening the pliant, sweet fruit flavors. This very pure, well-delineated pinot finishes sweet and long, with silky tannins, tangy lift and a whiplash of red fruits. An outstanding entry-level wine, aged with only about 5% new oak, according to owner/winemaker Justin Willett."

Product Description:

WINE:
"309 cases produced. Comprised of about 60% Santa Maria Valley fruit and the balance from the Santa Rita Hills. Smoke, earth, dust, Asian spice, pomegranate, blood orange, and wet stone on the nose and palate." -Winery

VINTAGE:
"The 2009 Vintage growing season was unusually stress free. Winter brought a nice level of rainfall, which led to fruitful and abundant buds renewing their vegetative cycle. Spring was pleasant to the vines and the amazing bloom-time weather graced us with vibrant flowering, followed by a highly successful crop. As I toured one of my plots, the vineyard manager remarked how he had not seen such brilliant pinot flowers in his entire career!" -Winery

WINERY:
"Tyler is dedicated to producing wines of delicacy and balance, where structure and nuance are favored above all else. Our focus is exclusively on exceptional vineyard sites throughout Santa Barbara County and on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as the mediums through which we express each vineyard." -Winery
