"The 2008 Combes aux Moines was only eighty percent through its malo, but its quality was self-evident. The nose offers up a beautiful mélange of blood orange, red cherries, grilled meat, a lovely base of Gevrey’s black minerality, woodsmoke and a touch of bitter chocolate. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and very transparent, with moderate tannins and lovely length and grip on the perfectly balanced finish. Lovely juice in the making. 2016-2035."
