David Schildknecht - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Perrot-Minot says his 2006 Chambertin Clos De Beze Vieilles Vignes was largely untouched by hail, which hit hardest in that cru's upper-reaches. Cassis, rose petal, licorice, and brown spices migrate from an intense nose to a grippingly-concentrated, thickly-dense palate. This is more opaque than the corresponding Mazoyeres and wears its huge extract and tannins on its sleeve, or - less metaphorically speaking - in a long, vibratory, tongue-shaking finish that clings like a sap of Clos de Beze. This embryonic Pinot is I believe singular among 2006s. I would suggest that one cellar it for 6-8 years and then plan on a subsequent decade of high performance."
"Good deep medium red. Knockout nose offers black and blue fruits, dried flowers, minerals, mocha and Asian spices. Then chewy and powerful in the mouth, with an urgent quality to the sappy fruits and flowers. As was the case when I tasted this wine from barrel a year ago, I was amazed by the whiplash of fruits and crushed stone on the finish, which reveals a wonderfully subtle sweetness. This may not have the sheer exotic appeal or steel-like structure of the 2005, but it's brilliant in the context of its vintage. As I pointed out last year, Perrot-Minot must have plucked out the hail-affected berries with a tweezer." -94 Points - Stephen Tanzer - International Wine Cellar
