For a grüner veltliner from fertile loess soil, this is remarkably subtle with some herbal complexity alongside the citrusy fruit. The supple finish features a satisfying balance of creaminess and minerality. From biodynamically grown grapes. Respekt certified. Drink or hold.

The Rupperstberger 2017 Grüner Veltliner Ried Mordthal 1ÖTW is deep and stony on the intense nose that is provided with concentrated fruit and Mediterranean herbal flavors (licorice, thyme...). Round and fruity on the stimulating palate, this is a full-bodied and slightly sweet but well-structured and elegant Veltliner that needs some time in the bottle to gain complexity and nuances. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg, September 2018.
