92+Stephan Reinhardt - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The Rupperstberger 2017 Grüner Veltliner Ried Mordthal 1ÖTW is deep and stony on the intense nose that is provided with concentrated fruit and Mediterranean herbal flavors (licorice, thyme...). Round and fruity on the stimulating palate, this is a full-bodied and slightly sweet but well-structured and elegant Veltliner that needs some time in the bottle to gain complexity and nuances. Tasted at Schloss Grafenegg, September 2018."
Product Description:
Ried Mordthal is a south facing, multi layered site with a layer of glacial “löss” covering a bed of conglomerate rock and slate. Light golden yellow, scent of a basket full of ripe fruits like peaches and apricots, extract sweet body, mineralic core revealing thrilling acidity; through its salty and juicy appearance it is a perfect wine with all the merits of a great growth.
