From the Winemakers' Website: PRESENTATION : Passionate & committed to the Mediterranean lifestyle & premium wines from the South of France, Gerard Bertrand reveals in Art de Vivre all the unique character of the region’s finest wine terroirs. The village of Tautavel is ideally situated in Roussillon between the Pyrennees & the Mediterranean sea. The region of Tautavel is rich in history, it is one of the cradles of humanity. WINEMAKER’S NOTES: On the vineyard the work starts with a selection of the vine plots best suited to producing this type of wine. Most of the grapes are picked by hand. They are sorted twice, on the vine & then in the winery. Vinification is traditional & the grapes are de‐stemmed prior to maceration, which lasts between three & four weeks. Pressing is then carried out, followed by malolactic fermentation. 33% of the wine is matured in barrels for 9 months, with the rest left in vats. TASTING NOTES: The color is intense & glossy, with light reflections of brown. Intensely fruity aroma of red forest fruits & raspberry persist with complex & spicy notes. An excellent attack on the palate with supple tannins & notes of wild herbs & spices. Ideally served at 18°C with grilled peppers, pork with caramel sauce, rabbit with prune or matured cheeses.
