"Frédéric Dorthe runs this 84-acre estate on the right bank of the Rhône in Saint-Marcel d’Ardèche it take its name from his 18th-century cellars, which once belonged to the Cardinal de Bernis. Based on grenache and syrah with a little mourvèdre, this is fermented and aged in cement tanks. The generous, sweet cherry flavors are equally matched by deep, dark earth, the impression meaty and firm, and completely honest. A wine to buy by the case to drink now and over the next few years."
