Jeb Dunnuck - The Rhone Report
"Darker and richer, with more blackberry, cassis, and mineral, to go with plenty of garrigue, the 2010 Domaine Albin Jacumin Chateauneuf-du-Pape La Begude Des Papes (a tank aged blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 12% Syrah, and 3% Cinsault) is dense, structured, and beautifully balanced on the palate. Medium to full-bodied, elegant, yet rich, with finely polished tannin and serious length, this beautiful 2010 will benefit from a handful of years in the cellar and shine for 10-12 years or more. Impressive stuff and this producer needs to be on every Rhone lover's radar." (10/12)

"Opaque ruby. Intense, spice-accented aromas of candied cherry, blackcurrant and dried flowers, with deeper anise and cola nuances in the background. Shows good depth and power, offering chewy dark fruit flavors and a hint of peppery spices. Finishes on a youthfully firm note, with fine clarity and cut." (02/13)
