"A gorgeous expression of old vine Grenache that is at the top of the vintage, the 2003 Mas de Boislauzon Cuvée du Quet is knockout stuff that is incredibly youthful and borderline primary. Offering up classic Châteauneuf-du-Pape aromas and flavors of black raspberries, kirsch, licorice, roasted garrigue, seaweed, and spiced meats, it flows onto the palate with a full-bodied, seamless, and beautifully pure texture that has no hard edges, awesome purity, and a focused, clean finish. Chewy, rich, and voluptuous, yet also pure, precise, and long, this top- notch effort will continue to improve for another year or three, and shine for a decade or more after that."

"The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Quet is a blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Mourvedre. Dense ruby/plum/purple in color with a big, exuberant, almost flamboyant nose of damp earth, melted licorice, sweet plums, currants, and raspberries, the wine is rich, full-bodied, with layers of concentration, moderate tannin, and a powerful, long finish with plenty of spice and earth. Give this wine 2-3 years of bottle-age and drink it over the following 15 years."
