"The 2011 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Acinatico is 60% Covina Veronese, 15% Corvinine, 20% Rondinella and 5% Molinara aged in both stainless steel and tonneaux. Refermentation occurs over ten days on Amarone skins with daily pump overs. A distant hint of bruised apple gives the wine an oxidative tint that is not uncommon in Ripasso and Amarone. Cherry liqueur, chocolate, spice and tobacco add to the darkly concentrated, slightly sweet close. Fruit is sourced from two sites, one at approximately 250 meters above sea level and one at 500 meters which lends added freshness. Drink 2013-2018."
