The 2019 Secateurs, a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Shiraz, offers attractive mulberry, dark chocolate and fynbos scents on the nose that transport you directly to the wilds of the Capelands. Lovely definition and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh opening. While the aromatics intimate a lush Swartland blend, this is in fact much stricter and more linear. Dark berry fruit, white pepper, sage and touches of curry leaf vie for attention, and the finish is both long and tender. Excellent considering the price.'
