Bourgogne Tonnerre is a regional appellation that is approximately 20 kilometers east of Chablis, and shares their signature marl and limestone soil composition. The vineyards sit on either side of the Armançon river, and the breeze that comes off the water aids in cooling the grapes and driving up the tantalizing acidity.

As Vinous' Neal Martin notes on the difference between Chablis's 2018 and 2019 vintages, "2018 is rich and 2019 is concentrated...it may be a little too early to really compare the two vintages but 2019 does seem on the palate a little more balanced."
