Neal Martin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2014 Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru les Folatières had a sense of airiness on the nose, and a hint of orange cordial developing with time. The palate has good weight and intensity on the entry, a keen line of acidity and good weight in the mouth; it has a vibrant, dried orange peel-tinged finish that has good sustain. This is a very impressive wine from Chartron -- a Folatières that fulfills its potential. Drink 2017-2032"
92+ John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"The 2014 Folatières from Domaine Chartron is another lovely example of the vintage, and amongst these last premier crus, this is the one that will drink the most charmingly out of the blocks. The bouquet offers up a lovely constellation of pear, white peach, fresh almond, chalky soil tones, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and juicy, with a bit more sense of reserve than the wide open and very inviting nose suggests. The wine has a fine core, lovely soil signature and very good length and grip on the well-balanced finish. Despite its very engaging personality out of the blocks, I would try to give it at least a year or two to more fully blossom on the palate, but it is not going to be easy keeping one’s hands off of this wine in the cellar!"
