"Once again there is enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit but not the petrol and gentle wood toast nuances. There is good richness to the round yet nicely focused middle weight flavors that possess an opulent and expansive mouth feel, all wrapped in a lemony, long and well-balanced finale. Lovely and particularly so if you enjoy more generously proportioned white burgs."

"The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers has a refined bouquet with a little more perfume and mineralité than the Maltroie. The palate is quite racy on the entry with lime and Granny Smith apples, very saline in the mouth and there is decent weight on the tightly wound finish. It will need two or three years in bottle to really show its mettle, but the potential is there."
