John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"The 2009 Simon Bize Corton-Charlemagne is one of the best examples of this superb grand cru that I tasted on my entire trip. The beautiful and properly reserved nose offers up a very complex mélange of apple, pear, lemon zest, white flowers, chalky, stony minerality and a discreet framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and beautifully complex, with a rock solid core of fruit, a superb signature of soil, bright acids and absolutely stunning length and grip on the youthful and utterly refined finish. A great wine by any stretch of the imagination. 2016-2040+."
"Soft wood sets off very fresh, dense, pure and highly complex aromas of green apple, pungent minerality, white flower and spiced pear. There is impressive power and richness to the broad-shouldered and big-bodied flavors that also culminate in a very dry, clean and palate staining finish of stunning length. This is riper than a classic example but should still amply reward 5 to 7 years of cellaring." -93 Points - Allen Meadows -Burghound
