Jeb Dunnuck - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Blueberry, blackberry, licorice and roasted herbs all come soaring from the glass of the 2015 Minervois la Livinière les Anciens. Made from a blend of Carignan and Grenache (from clay and sandstone parcels), its inky purple/blue tinged color is followed by a huge nose of black currants, violets, spring flowers and bay leaf. Rich, full-bodied, unctuous and yet still lively and fresh, with plenty of acidity, this smokin’ good effort should drink nicely for 7-8 years, possibly longer. There’s just over 600 cases made.
