Jeb Dunnuck - The Rhone Report
"The estate's entry level Faugères and a blend of 50% Carignan, 40% Grenache, and 10% Cinsault that's aged in concrete and stainless steel for 2 years, the 2009 Domaine Leon Barral Faugères is straight up thrilling stuff that is loaded with character and soul. With perfumed and complex aromas of wild cherries, sappy garrigue, intense floral aromas, balsam, and resiny, pine like characteristics that carry into a full-bodied, seamless, polished palate, this superb value should not be missed by any southern Rhone lover! It’s brilliant now, yet I think it will aged gracefully as well, with possibly 10-12 years not being out of the question."
