"Si Vintners is Sarah Morris and her loving husband Iwo Jakimowicz. They purchased a 30 acre estate just south of Margaret River property setting out to make wine as naturally as possible. They converted the vineyard to organics and in the process of biodynamic conversion. The vast majority of the land was planted to 1978, placing it amongst many of the oldest vineyards in Margaret River.
Bringing together the love triangle that is Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, but handled the Si way – gentle hands, no additions, on lees for longer periods, au naturale. The Red is a wild fermented Bordeaux blend with extended skin contact and matured in new and old oak for 18 months. It’s unfiltered/unfined and minimal sulfur is added.
A deep garnet-red in the glass. Heady aromas of licorice, cloves, plums and chocolate. On the palate, smooth and mellow showing black and purple fruit. Mid palate offerins sweet raspberry and cherry compote flavors enhanced by mint and cracked pepper. Rich yet lively, with excellent closing focus and supple tannins, leading to a lingering and spicy finish. Great with stews and other hearty dishes, game, pork tenderloin." - Importer
