"Extremely perfumed with dark berry and hints of tar and dried flowers that follow through to a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Lots of momentum at the finish. Needs a year or two to come together."

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Acre (there’s a small amount of Petit Verdot in the blend) is a beautiful, refined example of Pritchard Hill Cabernet. Deep ruby-colored, with a mountain hillside-like bouquet of wild scrub brush, crushed rocks, tobacco, dried herbs and both blue and black fruits, it glides over the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, beautifully integrated acidity, and solid length. It's very much in the style of the 1147 release, but slightly less concentrated and majestic. Elegant, silky, and seamless, yet still with ample power, it's a brilliant 2016 geared for those that love the old-school, classic style of Napa Valley. It will keep for 2+ decades."

"Composed of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Three Acre has a deep garnet-purple color and is beautifully perfumed of candied violets, Ceylong tea, underbrush and cigar box scents with a core of blackcurrant cordial, redcurrant jelly and black raspberries. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly styled and very polished on the palate, it has an exquisitely fine-grained texture and long harmonious finish."

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Three Acre is wonderfully alive and expressive in the glass. Deeply pitched spiced notes wrap around a core of succulent dark red cherry and plum fruit. The Three Acre is another wine in this range that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Sweet tobacco, mocha, new leather and menthol build into the resonant, inviting finish."
"Our ‘Three Acre’ Cabernet Sauvignon showcases how stunning Napa Valley mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon can be. The rising star in David’s vineyard, Clone 337, thrives above the fogline at over one thousand feet above the valley floor. Extended hours of sunlight give these grapes the opportunity to express the inherent ripe-fruit characteristics while the small, thick skinned berries give us a high ratio of skins to must during the maceration and fermentation process. Twenty months in blue-chip French Oak barrels gives this wine the opportunity to express a wide range of baking spices and aromatics. The resulting wine is fullbodied, fruit-expressive and bold with gripping tannins that offer a seemingly never-ending finish. This wine would pair beautifully with a butter-basted rib-eye steak and your best friend’s company!
A deep, dense, ruby-violet color offers the nose a broad spectrum of earthy spice notes with lightly toasted oak, vanilla bean and baking spices followed by black cherry and raspberry, rose petals and hints of citrus rind. The palate is focused, yet broad, with chewy fine-grained tannins and flavors of cherry fruit cake, cassis and cocoa nibs. Best from 2018 to 2030." - Winery
