Chateau Peybrun has been in the de Loze family for four centuries with family archives found in the house dating back to 1545; today the owner and winemaker is Catherine de Loze, who gave up her law practice and took over running the estate upon the death of her father in 1985. Her Cotes de Bordeaux is a 75/22/3 blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, with all the grapes coming from a single 12-acre plot on the property. The wine has an engaging nose of crushed cherries and black currants, and a round, generous, expansive palate packed with lovely berry fruit.
