"Supple and sturdy, this beautifully structured blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah, which uses fruit sourced from the estate vineyard, utilizes the best assets of both grapes. The Cabernet gives it both firmness and depth, while the Syrah pipes in vivid, juicy, berry flavors. Still young and primary, the best is clearly yet to come. CELLAR SELECTION"

"The Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend 2009 Buty Columbia Rediviva Phinny Hill Vineyard, tasted out of separate barrels, will see two years in barrel, followed by a year in bottle prior to release. While I’m not sure this hits the heights of the ’07, it shows loads of promise with all of the samples possessing beautifully ripe black fruits, solid complexity, and a serious, structured feel. My guess is that it will reward cellar time, and have a long drink window."

"Medium ruby. Aromas of black raspberry, coffee and mocha. Densely packed but juicy and light on its feet, with noteworthy lift to the lush, sweet cassis and licorice flavors. Not quite as juicy as the Champoux Vineyard bottling, in fact there's a suggestion of almost roasted fruit here, but the syrah component brings a rising finish and serious, palate-coating tannins."
"Columbia Rediviva is our deluxe blend of cabernet sauvignon and syrah, dominated by cabernet sauvignon. Our Phinny Hill Vineyard estate grown property is home to these vines, which grow on a warm site in ancient Columbia River soils. It is the uphill neighbor of Champoux Vineyard. Aged for two years in French Chateau barrels. It is bottled aged for another year before it’s released at 3 years old. This is a muscular wine counterbalanced with violets and sweet fruit. Twenty-four barrels produced." -Winery
