"Tasted by jeff nowak on 9/4/2010 & rated 92 points: 14.2% alcohol. read kstoddard's note from november 2007. we tasted this together back when i posted my notes on ebob instead of CT! (what an idiot), and i liked it every bit as much as he did. in fact, i bought two bottles that night, so this is the first of those. decanted, and followed in the glass for almost 5 hours. i've had uneven results with 04 napa cabs, but i have to say that this is a good one, although i probably liked the lush fruit from 3 years ago better. the moderate residual tannins are sweet on the front end, and coat the mucosa on the back end. they are not gritty. i preferred the very perfumed nose over the palate. this wine has a feminine edge to it, but it's an independent, strong woman. future development strikes me as sketchy. i won't hold my other bottle that much longer, as i don't perceive it possessing that rigid of a spine. apparently, this puts me in the minority because i see that very few bottles from the community have been opened. i surmise it's because people believe this will age, and in fact, needs to be aged. good luck with that, i don't see it. it's classic napa profile, but with a favorable composition, seems best enjoyed on the youngish side. i say drink, or hold no longer than age ten. (565 views) Tasted by CMCLR on 10/25/2009 & rated 91 points: A little "thin" according to Millie. Well-made, just a little more reticent than typical of a KL reserve. (628 views) Tasted by Rayburn on 6/22/2009 & rated 95 points: Absolutely fantastic. Layers upon layers of juicy black and red fruits, soft vanilla, a bit of cream leading to a long finish framed by firm, but not overpowering tannins. Going to only improve in the next 5 years, but drinking well now after a mild decant. Bravo! (702 views) Tasted by CMCLR on 3/10/2009 & rated 91 points: This has excellent balance and acidity as the other tasters have stated. It's a little more restrained than I would expect from an '04 of this pedigree. The finish doesn't give what I would expect/hope for. Am thinking that another couple of years may work this towards more complexity. (819 views) Tasted by WineForRob on 4/28/2008 & rated 94 points: Black cherry and chocolate nose. Nice balance between acidity and fruit. This is a baby but very nicely integrated. Can drink now but I would waiy another year or 2. Has more structure than some other easy drinking 04's (1002 views) Tasted by kstoddard on 11/13/2007 & rated 94 points: Black cherry, charred oak and blackberry. Nice balance and acidity. Excellent purity and depth of fruit. The finish is quite closed and not giving up much at this point but it 's easy to see the potential of this wine. (1281 views)"
