"Bright green-tinged yellow. Lively aromas of sour apple, peach, minerals, flowers, spices and chlorophyll. Dry and rich on the palate, with noteworthy old-viney fat that's leavened by a bracing lemony quality. Conveys a strong glyceral impression of dry extract and finishes with lovely length. A superb vintage for this bottling. Luca says 2012 is a brilliant vintage for white wines: "minerally, fresh and floral, with strong acidity." Luca's father Alfredo practically invented dry arneis in 1967 and was responsible for rescuing the variety from extinction; previously arneis had been vinified sweet. Another name for the variety is "white nebbiolo," noted Currado, suggesting that arneis could have been an early mutation of the red variety."
