David Schildknecht - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Tasted separately - and as a pre-assemblage - from five tanks originating with different parcels and pickings, Picq's 2012 Chablis is bursting with fresh, succulent tart-edged lemon, lime and apple. Classically smoky, chalky Kimmeridgian notes inflect a wine of almost piercing brightness and unflagging energy, firm yet so refreshing as to be counted generous. This fine value should perform brilliantly (in more than once sense) at table through at least 2016."

"Why should you care? The short crop of 2012 produced Chablis wines that should please purists and neophytes alike. The wines are concentrated, dense, fruity and deep, offering a rare combination of richness and fresh acidity at mostly moderate levels of alcohol. While they are generally more fruit-driven and less austere than the 2010s were at a similar stage of evolution, they should age gracefully to reveal their underlying saline minerality.
What does it taste like? Didier Picq’s village Chablis, made entirely in stainless steel tanks from a blend of vineyards and soil types, is almost always a wine with early sex appeal. His 2012 Chablis leads off with intriguing notes of white pepper and white truffle. It’s dry and classic, offering noteworthy inner-mouth tension to its citrus and mineral flavors. Sappy acidity gives this enticing village wine an easily digestible quality and very good finishing grip. Best of all, this is a sizable bottling by Chablis standards, with good availability in the U.S. retail market. My score: 90 points."
