John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"Champeaux is one of my absolute favorite premier crus in Gevrey and the 2010 version from Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy is outstanding. The deep, very pure and nascently complex nose jumps from the glass in a blaze of red and black cherries, a gentle touch of grilled meat, coffee, stunningly complex soil tones, orange zest, woodsmoke and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bdoied, pure and very suave, with a sappy core of fruit, ripe tannins and impeccable focus and balance on the very long, young and classy finish. The great amplitude of Champeaux is very much in evidence in this supremely elegant rendition. 2020-2060+."
92 Allen Meadows - Burghound
"A nose of ripe purple fruit that includes plum and cassis plus subtle stone and floral notes leads to intense, detailed and energetic medium weight flavors that exhibit a lovely sense of building tension that continues on through to the austere, firm and well-balanced finish that is supported by very fine-grained tannins. A textbook example with the natural finesse and refinement of a classic Champeaux on display."
