"Made by Jean-Philippe Janoiux, with the assistance of Michel Rolland, this wine is performing spectacularly well. Produced from a 12+ acre vineyard near Vieux Chateau Certan, Le Pin, and Petit Village, the dense purple-hued 2005 exhibits wonderfully sweet, full-bodied aromas and flavors of plums and blackberries, a fabulous texture, a big, chewy richness, and high tannin that is largely obscured by the wine’s extravagant richness and intensity. It is a blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Remarkably, the natural alcohol achieved 13.7% in this vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2025+."
