Allen Meadows - Burghound
"This gorgeous effort begins with a notably restrained nose that only reluctantly offers up shy scents of lemon rind, green apple and cool pear. The refreshing and equally cool flavors are strikingly refined and energetic with an exceptionally fine bead to the supporting mousse, all wrapped in wonderfully authoritative, balanced and focused finish that lasts and lasts. This understated and ultra-pure effort is flat out terrific combining power and finesse. This could easily be enjoyed now but a few more years of bottle age will only add to the depth." "There's a chiseled quality to the mouthwatering acidity in this refined version, offering well-meshed texture and flavors of creamed apple, fresh ginger and white peach. Lightly chalky, with a smoke-tinged finish. Drink now through 2018. 165 cases made. -AN" (2013)

"This is made entirely from old vines in Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry: half of it comes from the 2009 harvest, while the remainder is split between 2008 and 2007. It feels even creamier than Lilbert's regular non-vintage blanc de blanc does, due in part to its lower pressure, yet it's also more intensely minerally as well, showing a dark, savory chalkiness that turns smoky, flinty and seashell-like on the finish, with a great deal of length and complexity. It's a superb wine, demonstrating real old-vine depth and character. Last tasted: 11/12"
