"Pale golden-yellow. Deep, very refined aromas of orange peel, strawberry jam, marzipan and honeyed quince. Very creamy yet tangy too, with a strong botrytis character to the exotic stone fruit and floral flavors. Glyceral but not heavy, thanks to harmonious ripe acidity and lovely purity. Finishes with an almost unctuous quality and terrific length. About 10% to 15% of the grapes were affected by botrytis, according to Barthelme. Try this outstanding grand cru pinot gris with a porcini risotto or a citrus-accented salmon."

"Finely meshed, this creamy white shows subtle flavors of poached pear, anise, green melon, smoke and lanolin and a thread of minerality throughout that suggests zesty spice and fleur de sel. Drink now through 2020. 25 cases imported. -AN"
