"The 2008 Cepparello (Sangiovese) possesses lovely density and richness for the year. Black cherries, incense, herbs tobacco and leather are some of the notes that flow from this textured, highly attractive Cepparello. The finish is round, sensual and inviting. The sheer magic of the finest years is missing, but that is asking too much in 2008, even of Paolo De Marchi. This is as good as it gets in central Tuscany in 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2028."
