“On a consistent basis, you’re going to have a very difficult time finding a thirty dollar Cab that tastes like this in California.”  - Gary Vaynerchuk, Star of Wine Library TV

Cabernet Sauvignon around the world is red hot right now. Leading the charge are the recent, blockbuster vintages coming out of California (2012 and 2013) and as always, Cabernet continues to generate a ton of excitement around the world in general.

Today's offer is not only one of the most exciting bottles of Cabernet we have introduced to you this year, it is also proof to the fact that simply outstanding Cabernet can come from many places. Especially here ... where Paul Hobbs is the consulting winemaker for one of the most exciting projects in South America.

The main goal of any wine drinker is to find a wine that over delivers. “How can I drink a bottle of wine that drinks as well as a wine that costs twice as much?”

As you can tell from the video above, Gary V is obviously excited about the price point of 2013 Riglos Gran Cabernet. “The comparisons here, really are Caymus Cabernet, Silver Oak ... It’s that oaky, classic California style, that so many of you adore, and very frankly, so many of you are overpaying from California.”

Gary’s video really hits the nail on the head. When you can get a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon that has consulting Winemaker Paul Hobbs involved, and not have to spend over thirty dollars, it becomes one of the best values a Cabernet Sauvignon fan can find.

It's not Napa ... but many of you buying 2012 and 2013 Napa Cabernet should look here
Stocking up on 2012 and 2013 from Napa? Don't forget about this

The Cabernet market here in the United States is red hot right now. Thanks to the 2012 and 2013 Cabernet from Napa you can find on many store shelves right now, buyers have a ton to choose from. Today's offer ... is just a little bit different.

We're talking same varietal.

We're talking one of California's most famous winemakers working as the consulting winemaker.

We're talking full-bodied, incredibly structured Cabernet Sauvignon for a price that might make you think you spent 2 to 3 times the price.

We're talking about a wine coming from one of the hottest regions in the world for making top flight "value" wine.

We're talking about a wine ... that 5+ years down the road from now, many are going to wish they went back and bought another 6 bottles ... or another case.

Top Flight Winemaking, from a "First Growth" of Argentina!
Winemaker Pulqui Rodriguez Villa teams up with Paul Hobbs!

Pulqui Rodriguez VIlla has been making wine since he earned his Enology Degree in 1972. He has become one of the most influential winemakers and consultants in Argentina and has been a leader in promoting Argentinian wine over the last 40+ years. His experience in Argentina along with consulting winemaker Paul Hobbs really sets the tone for this spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon.

Hobbs himself needs little introduction ... especially here in the US. We're talking countless numbers of 90+ point wines. This includes many in the 95+ range and several that hit 100 Points with some of the major critics here in the US. Hobbs' wines are some of the most sought after wines in California. He brings his ability to make stunning wines in Napa Valley to Argentina to show that there is a real opportunity to create world-class wines south of the border.  Master of Wine Tim Atkin agrees, listing Riglos as one of his “First Growth” selections of Argentina. There is a very short list of wineries that make it on that list!

A 96 Point Cabernet ... for as little as $25.98 per bottle plus free shipping (on 6+ btl orders)!
This Cabernet has more than you can imagine ... and is drinking great right now

Earlier this year, Tim Atkin released his 2016 Argentina Special Report. The report really dives into the 2013 vintage which is known to be one of the best vintages in recent history. The 2013 Gran Cabernet by Riglos gets a lot of praise, not only scoring 96 Points, but making it on to the top 100 wines tasted in 2016. His review is short, but to the point, and really sets the tone for the wine:

Riglos' vineyard in Gualtallary is one of the best Cabernet sites in Argentina, especially in a cooler vintage like 2013. Showing very pure varietal flavours, with dense blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, masses of dry extract, fine-grained tannins and notes of green herbs and mint supported by acidity. 2017-25" - 96 Points

When you first taste this wine, you will quickly see why Gary V mentions in his video, “...very difficult right now in today’s California Cabernet climate, to find Cabernet of this quality, this structure, in that price point.”

Argentina is a leading region in the world of winemaking for their value based wines. This takes that point to an entire new level. We saw in recent years the explosion of Malbec in the American wine market. A fruit forward, full-bodied red wine that is balanced and delicious and that doesn’t have the Napa Valley price point. Now we see that same mentality going into Cabernet Sauvignon. Some of the best winemakers from California have their hand in Argentina because of the similarities and are now making the same caliber of wine there for half the price.

One of the biggest questions we answer here at Wine Library is, “I want the wine to taste twice as good as what I pay for it.” First off, who doesn’t want that? :) Secondly, Argentina is one of the best spots to search for wines that are made in a similar style as California wines, at half the price.

One last thing ... it's never to early to think about gift ideas
This is something you won't find everywhere ... and the story behind it is stunning!

Riglos Gran Corte Cabernet really does drink like a premium wine ... for a price far less than what you may expect.

You can put names like Caymus, Silver Oak, and Stags Leap next to a wine like this, and find that there are so many similarities. Except on this wine ... there is one big difference. The price! Think about any Cabernet fan on your shopping list this holiday season ... or perhaps you will need gift ideas for clients or other family members? This would be perfect!!
