"One of the great values in the range, the appropriately named 2009 Marche Rosso Dirosaediviola - literally >of roses and violets- - emerges from the glass with crushed flowers, spices, licorice and dark berries. All the elements come together beautifully in this refined, impeccable red. This is another compelling effort. A hint of rose petals lingers on the fragrant finish. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017.
Fontezoppa is an excellent source for wines that capture the essence of the many varieties - both red and white - that are indigenous in the Marche. Today, the entry-level and mid-tier wines offer the greatest consistency, but I think it is just a matter of time before the higher-end wines are more dialed in."
