Jay Miller - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Rated 90 Points by Jay Miller but he did not list any tasting notes. Here are ours! A great value from Keith Tulloch, this clean and mouth filling Viognier exhibits notes of apple core and citrus wrapped around a core of refreshing acidity. -90 points- Jay Miller- Wine Advocate
WINE:
"Distinctive Viognier fragrant perfume of lifted citrus blossom, peach, passionfruit, pineapple, and subtle elements of pear, lime, and fresh musky spice. The flavors are bright and generous honeysuckle and ripe orange / citrus with juicy peach mouthfeel, velvet lychee texture throughout yet finishing with lime and apple crispness, and a lemonade-like dry tang onto the finish."
"Viognier has full varietal power yet also the fine structural brightness, producing a sleek-textured, medium bodied white with strong fruit, warm alcohol, and a refreshingly long persistence. Suitable for current consumption or short-to-medium term maturation. Screwcap sealed to provide our best quality assurance and the ultimate potential for cellaring."
"The Perdiem label represents our interest and winemaking focus with new and emerging grape varieties. Viognier utilizes a proportion of Hunter Valley grapes, but also incorporates grape resources from other premium quality areas of Victoria and South Australia." -Winery
WINERY:
"Writes James Halliday, 'I cannot remember being more impressed with an initial release of wines than those under the Keith Tulloch label. The only problem is their small scale of production, like that of Geoffrey Grosset in his early days. There is the same almost obsessive attention to detail, the same ascetic intellectual approach, the same refusal to accept anything but the best.'" -Winery
