"This is the first vintage in which renowned winemaker Stephan Derenoncourt had total control of the production of the winery. If you thought previous vintages were great, you are in for a serious ride with the 2006. His influence is undeniable for it's elegance, power, balance and complexity, while still maintaining it's St. Emilion roots. 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. I was lucky enough to blend this with Stephan and the effort is easily one of the best of all the La Reserves, this is a must own."

The chateau's cuvee is 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, and also composed of mainly younger vines.
