"A blockbuster effort, the 2003 Shiraz The Freedom is produced from some of the estate's oldest dry farmed vineyards (some dating back to 1843). Aged two months in new French hogsheads and smaller barrels, this is a full-throttle, high velocity, inky/purple-hued Shiraz boasting gorgeous aromas of creosote, blackberry liqueur, melted licorice, tar, and pepper. With a fabulous texture, amazing richness as well as concentration, and a long, surprisingly refined and sophisticated finish, it should drink well for 15+ years."
