"Deep dark ruby with purple reflexes, delicate Water's Edge. With delicate nougat padded Vistula cherry confit, fine herbs and spices, mineral touch. Juicy, ripe Zwetschkenfrucht (translates as best fruit), fairly prominent tannins, chocolaty aftertaste, ripe berries in reverb, a complex food companion who has aging potential." On the palate juicy, ripe plums, very charming, fine integrated tannins and
an elevated palate with long, fruity finish " Winery Notes (translation)
We want the consumers of our wines to taste the regional typicalities, the climate, the terroir as well as the carefulness we put into the work in the vineyards and the cellar. In order to reach this goal, we have applied an autochthonal way of working that is very close to nature.
We don't want to copy wines from other regions or countries and we don't follow hypes. We refuse to use tricky methods to make the same uniform wine year after year. But this doesn't mean that time stands still in our winery. We combine nature and tradition with modern techniques in vineyard and cellar to create honest and high quality wines. And we know: What you miss to achieve in the vineyards you can't make up for in the cellar. Reduction in harvest quantities and rigorous selection of grapes are only two examples that cater for the well-known Pöckl taste sensations.
About the Rosso e Nero blend
Rosso e Nero is Admiral's little brother. Despite being 'second', this wine has a distinct character and has demonstrated its strengths again and again by receiving various awards.
Because of the many different grape varieties included in this blend, Rosso e Nero grows on gravel, sand but also heavy clay. Before bottling, the wine matures in 50% new and 50% used Barrique-barrels for 18 months. Complex, juicy heart cherries, tense and well integrated tannins, extract sweetness in the aftertaste, spicy, shows good length, has ageing potential, dark berries in the finale, a versatile food companion. This cuvée is an 'universal genius' and is the safe choice to go with the many different meat dishes, both at home and at restaurants.
