Product Description:
As usual, our Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is composed of Zinfandel from Teldeschi Ranch (planted in the 1890s) and Mounts Ranch (planted in the 1950s). To these components, we blended in 13% Petite Sirah, also from Mounts Ranch, to add color, body, and texture. Aged for 16 months in all French oak, 18% new, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Medium to medium-dark ruby-garnet. Cherries, white pepper, rose petal, and a dusty, ferrous-like quality delight the nose. A very compelling sniff! On the palate, medium-full to full bodied with flavors of red cherry, loamy earth, and bouquet garni. No less delicious than our other Zinfandels but a bit more savory and mineral-driven in character. While drinkable now, this wine will continue to develop. Optimum enjoyment should be 2022 to 2030.
