This young, structured wine from a family-owned estate has good balance between its acidity and the black-currant fruits. They are supported by young tannins that will soften as the wine matures. Drink from 2023. Roger Voss

"40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca, and 30% Tinta Roriz, all from La Rosa’s estate. Foot trodden in granite lagares for an evening before being tranferred to stainless-steel vats for fermentation. Matured for 12 months in new (30%) and used (70%) French oak casks.Rich and seductive aromas, combine with fresh yet mature fruit that includes hints of bramble and spices in a medium bodied, soft and vibrant wine. A typical Quinta de la Rosa Douro wine where the generosity of the ripe grapes is perfectly balanced by vibrant acidity. Elegance and character are the best words to describe this wine.
