"An exuberantly fruity style, with floral-infused raspberry, dark cherry and currant flavors that are pure and fresh. Minerally midpalate, showing mocha and peppery notes on the long, muscular finish. Pure, complex and almost monolithic. Best from 2030 through 2050. 750 cases made."

"Great berry and plum fruits leap out of the glass. It has a solid structure, to be sure, but it is the ripe character of the wine, a delicious balance between great fruit and acidity that dominates."

"The 2011 Reserva is an 80-20 blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, aged for 14 months in French oak (about 30% new oak, the rest second use). It was sourced from 35-year-old vines and (said Christian Seely) featured lower yields than the Estate Tinto. It comes in at just 13.5% alcohol. This adds just a bit of power and a modest layer of depth to the Estate Tinto also reviewed this issue, but the wine has a lot of similarity in its mid-palate elegance, style and flavor. It is also a bit more aromatic and gripping on the finish. In many respects, it seems like what the Estate Tinto should have been in the first place, frankly. I did have a preference for this rather charming wine of the ones submitted this issue. It may separate itself a bit more with time from its siblings (whether because this goes up or more likely they go down) as it is slightly more ageworthy. However, the price nearly doubles at this level (over the Estate Tinto) and I'm not sure there is really enough extra distinction for that price point. There were just 500 cases produced, which may help explain the differential pricing."
