"Descarte is a new wine from one of Toro's top producers, offering precise aromas of blackberry and cassis. The tight palate is ripped with tannic power—something that's normal for the region—and offers chocolaty black-fruit flavors that are toasty and spicy, with a dry, peppery and tannic finish that lingers. Drink through 2026."
Product Description:
Elias Mora is one of the top names in the Toro region, which is located in the northwest of Spain about 40 miles from the Portuguese border. Toro, meaning bull, is actually a pretty accurate description of the wines here, which are robust, masucline and muscular. Descarte is made from 40 year old vines on mostly sandy soils with a larger stone presence.
The palate is loaded with deep blue and black fruits balanced by violet, incense, black pepper and clove notes. Pair this with grilled or smoked meat, grilled veggies, or roasted chicken!
"Fresh fruit with a powerful attack. Tasty red fruit. Perfect with smoked mushrooms, soft meats, game birds and blue fish." - Winery
