The 2017 Cerro Las Cuevas is different from the previous years, as it's produced exclusively from two vineyards, Las Laderas and Calitrancos, in the zone of Ollauri. It's produced with old mixed varieties and perhaps a little more Graciano, which lends the wine more freshness, and the wine matured exclusively in a 3,800-liter oak foudre. The wine is a lot more expressive and lively, with vibrant fruit, floral and perfumed with a lot less oak influence than in previous vintages. This is different, a red with more personality, elegance and freshness. It also has a different texture and quality of tannins.

A really floral Rioja that shows mint, Thai basil, violets, bark, dark cherries and crushed stones. Medium-bodied and very firm on the palate with beautiful purity to the dark fruit and undeniable mineral accents. Impressive elegance and finesse.
