Think of the 2017 Crianza as a clean and precise version of a traditional Crianza, polished and velvety, very drinkable, with a sleek and seamless palate, fine tannins and very good balance. This is delicious and a great example of the category that can deliver quality like this. Bravo! It's Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha from BadarĂ¡n that adds a plus of freshness. It has contained ripeness and a medium body.

"The 2017 vintage will be known as "the year of the frost." After a mild, dry winter, with significantly earlier bud break, on the night of San Prudencio, April 28, temperatures dropped below zero in most of our vineyards. This circumstance definitively influenced all crop management throughout the growing season. The low production and the summer drought meant that all field work was focused on avoiding the loss of freshness in the different wines. After the earliest harvest ever recorded in Rioja, the final result was exceptional, with very fragrant and balanced wines, thanks in part to the fresh character of the vineyards. The downside is that it was a short vintage, with a lower-than-usual average yield."- Winery
