92 The Tasting Panel

There's plenty to like about this wine, including its artisanal feel and it's expressive, well defined, lifted aromatics. Well extracted color and a deep core, with a slight fade at the edge of the glass; some haziness indicates minimal filtration. Dark fruit, dark roast coffee, cracked Pepper, star anise, and cardamom contribute weight. Quite an accessible style, with no overt oak character; round and harmonious, with strong presence on the front and middle of the pallet. Balanced, soft finish with ripe tannins. 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier (co-fermented).
